Date of Event: Friday, May 22, 2026
Organized By: Good Shepherd Higher Secondary School, Chapahati
1. Overview
On May 22, 2026, our young change-makers took a powerful, public stand against one of the biggest health threats of our time: tobacco consumption. Around 350 passionate students from Classes VII, VIII, and IX—including both boys and girls—joined hands to orchestrate a highly successful Anti-Tobacco Awareness Rally and community Signature Campaign.
2. Community Mobilization at Doromchas
To maximize public outreach, the campaign moved straight to the heart of the local community at the Doromchas Weekly Market Place. This bustling marketplace served as the ideal venue to voice urgent health values. Armed with vibrant posters, custom handmade banners, and clear slogans, the marching students actively educated local vendors, traders, and visiting families about the lethal risks associated with smoking and chewing tobacco products.
Key Campaign Highlights
- Mass Student Mobilization: Unified strength displayed by 350 senior primary and high school students working as a community collective.
- Public Square Awareness: Marching loops across the crowded Doromchas market sector to catch maximum local audience attention.
- The Signature Campaign: Setting up massive pledge sheets directly in the marketplace where citizens formally signed up to support a tobacco-free village life.
3. Impact & Resolution
The core success lay in the active interactive engagement of public onlookers. Hundreds of signatures were proudly gathered on the spot. Local elders, market vendors, and visiting parents personally pledged to keep household surroundings clean, safeguard child wellness, and curb retail usage around minor zones.
4. Conclusion
The initiative successfully proved that structural education spreads far beyond traditional classroom walls. By executing external public campaigns, our students displayed admirable civic leadership, establishing an inspiring foundation towards preserving a healthier, safer generation.
